Routine
February 19, 2009Going through the same thing everyday is boring and tiring honestly I need something to spice up my life hehe was thinking about going back to the old training routine and get back my washboard abs haha who am I kidding? =(((((
I mean, am I going to go for the lonely runs out at night, static trainings, gym and eating like Matthew? Ya that cheapo (as said by ben, sorry Matt I had to quote him but don’t worry no one we know other then Charles read this blog) who spends at most $2 a meal! Omg, imagine no fast food! Those lovely hot fries dipped into wonderous chilla sauce =D Oh and no more soft drinks? Just murder me if I’m going to count my calories again.
Let’s see, if we have 24 hours a day and 8 hours is spent sleeping, that leaves us 16 potential hours to train! Hmm, and what do I do with those 16hours? Watching TV, playing Texas Holdem on facebook and training those kids who freaking hell lied to me all the time.
Why you might ask. Well I clearly asked them 2 questions on the first day we met.
1. “Do you guys want to win this upcoming march?” And all of them put up their hands.
2. “Are you all willing to do whatever it takes to win?”: And all of them put their hands up again.
Yeah they’re probably did that because of peer pressure or something but time and time again I told them they can always leave the court if they don’t have the right mentality or if they feel that I’m not fit to be their coach. And yet they treat me like some piece of shit who doesn’t even deserve the least respect. I told them basketball requires them to be very fit and thus trainings naturally have to be hard on their bodies and still they don’t want to work hard.
Me: “Guys it’s time to do your sprints”
Them: “Coach don’t want la, last 10 minutes we play game la”
Me: “Guys, time for static training”
Them: “Coach we don’t like your static training leh very tough”
Me: “Tough means it’s good for you. Who doesn’t want to do static training stand behind me.”
*4 boys did it*
Trust me, I put a lot of focus on physical conditioning which means you run run RUN!
Yes, you can start envisioning me as an evil coach with the bulldog face and whistle around my neck.
When it comes to basketball I’m really serious about it and I want to build a winning team and that explains the tough trainings. But a determined coach is just a piece of the puzzle. The players still need to have the winning mentality and it’s very disappointing that they clearly lack it. Oh well, it takes two hands to clap and thus I’ve decided to leave this team because having good skills is not good enough to win a championship. I know some people out there will say that I’m a quitter, leaving when I think the team has no chance of winning but to let you know, I can take the easy route out and just coach them without giving a heck and earn all the money.
Cheers.

Chasing pavements
February 6, 2009Haven’t been blogging for some time, being feeling so lazy everytime I turn on the computer I’m more interested in surfing youtube and its such a pity because the acoustic version of “misery business” has been removed due to copyright issues =( But there’re still other really nice videos online! Like:
He’s really such a star and if only he could be performing in Singapore. I’ll definitely go and watch him all the time like I do with Sara and Alvin and the Goodfellas.
So anyway I’ve been working at AES as a relief teacher and helping out with the basketball team. There’re so many loveable boys and girls like Aareen, Sean, Natasha, Dorothy etc etc. And especially the kids from 2/7; so polite and cute haha. The basketball players are disciplined and know that the coach is always right. I can really see that they love the game so much and want to learn. Persoanlly I’m more amazed with the chemistry and team spirit that lies within them. You can see the seniors encouraging the juniors and everyone cheering on each other during practice it was evidently missing from Kranji’s team. Really hope to see them do well upcoming March! And I’ll definitely go and support them! (:
Went shopping in town with Charles haha funny two guys in town looking for clothes but got pretty nice stuff like this Liverpool jacket;) Guys are total different creatures. After a guy tries on a pieces of clothing, they’ll be more likely to buy unlike girls who can try every piece of clothing in the shopping centre without trying anything (Speaking from experiences).
Really hate to see people quarrelling. Was outside Cheers last night and saw this couple having a tiff and the guy was trying so hard to please his girlfriend. And I guess its the same with friends and all alike but I don’t know why it happens in the first place.. Hate it.
Mahjong
February 1, 2009Overnight Mahjong sessions can only mean a few things:
1.Money is lost
2.Not enough sleep
3.Screwed up body clock
